  • Uncalled-For

I've had people make racial comments towards me before, but nothing like what I experienced on Saturday. I was sitting on the bus, a 26ish year old male walks onto the bus, and gives me a disgusted look. As he's walking towards me, he says "Ni hao, ni hao, ni hao," then he begins to laugh hysterically, and says "stupid Asians." I was so shocked when he said that, but I didn't say anything to him. Out of no where he said "Oh, you don't speak english? Has your visa expired? Go back to your country and make Nike tennis shoes for 6 cents an hour." The bus driver heard what was going on, and automatically kicked him off the bus. The other riders were so upset with him, but he still had the guts to say how he felt. Sometimes I wish we didn't have the freedom of speech...

  • Is This Feeling Normal?

Today I found out that someone got a hold of my bank account number, and made some pretty outrageous charges. When I went to the store later in the evening, I felt incredibly uncomfortable. It felt like someone was watching my every move, no matter where I go, or what I do. If they have a lot of my personal information already, I'm wondering what else do they know about me. Is this feeling of vulnerability normal?

  • Brand VS. Generic

Besides the picture on the box, can you tell the difference between the two cereals?

Whenever someone comes to my house, they always make a comment about how my family buys generic brand groceries. Some will say they have never bought anything that was generic, others will tell me they are afraid that generic food is old. I explain to them that generic food tastes exactly the same as name brand food, but they refuse to try it. I also tell them that with name brand food; your spending outrageous prices for their products, so they can afford to pay for advertisement. You don't see ads in magazines or on a commercial for generic, and that is why the product is sometimes half times cheaper. I'm happy that my family saves money by buying generic groceries!

  • LEAVE CARRIE PREJEAN ALONE!!!

Being a homosexual that I am, I was not offended when Carrie Prejean said that marriage should be between a man and a woman. The judge shouldn't have asked such a narrow minded question, because not everyone supports gay marriage. Just because she answered TRUTHFULLY about how she feels, it suddenly makes her not good enough to be Miss California. Why were none of the other contestants asked how they felt about gay marriage? It doesn't matter if your working at McDonald's, or your the runner up for Miss USA, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and I was glad to see that she stuck with how she felt.  My parent's don't support gay marriage, does that make them lower individuals?  Not at all, because not everyone believes in the same things as you and I. People who are running for the Miss USA title are supposed to be positive role models, and the fact that she was HONEST is the important thing here. Maybe we are the closed minded individuals, because we can't accept what she said. So please, leave Miss California alone already!
